Testimony

Question – On the eve of your Jubilee, what feelings you inspire all those years of religious life?

The first years, I had an enthusiasm that made all accept, it was not difficult. Before my entry into the religious life, the priest told me : “ take everything your superior will tell you as gold ”. It just has to put in practice and it was like that we were learning. With the passing of the years, T am always endeavored to go amount, although it was not always easy, even if sometimes there was misunderstanding. As I age, there more difficult. But I always still tried, convinced that there the grace of the moment each time, feeling and living the best possible difficulties. Now the last step, I feel like a bigger desire, more beautiful, in having confidence in grace. I feel more at peace. The Lord helped me a lot. Overall, the years do not too bad spent : she says with a smile.

Question – In what missions are you invested ?

At the end of novitiate, I wanted to care for the sick, but the life after the war was not easy. I’ve not really done mission. At the time, the entrance in the religious life was different. When it passed through the door, it was everything. The superiors said to us that all that could be done by love was important. I wanted to be religious but I had perhaps more to be cloistered vocation eventually.

Question – How did you choose your religious first name ?

I had read a book on the life of Saint Gertrude, which I had much enjoyed. So I first chose Gertrude. A sister had refused the first name Camille, but to me, it pleased me well and as that was my patron Saint, I chose Camille.

Question – Have you kept in your religious life friendships ?

I had two great friends from childhood, Charlotte and Monique, both deceased. When they found themselves widows both, they came to visit me once a month. But all my contacts of youth disappeared. Sometimes, I realized it after the fact, I had forgotten to go to the farewell.

Question – What message do you want to issue to the new generations ?

I find them good religious, very nice, full of caring, sometimes even too.

Word of interview’s end : I was not bring up like a Christian. But I managed once to attend mass. I was thirsty to know something on religious life. I hope to finish my life in moral and religious beauty. I think this will be the most successful.
