Franciscan Missionaries of our Lady XXXIII General Chapter - final document

"FMND Consacrated to the service of life. Communion, participation, mission."

Guided by the Holy Spirit, who speaks to us here and now, we, Franciscan Missionaries of Notre Dame, wish to renew and actualize our desire to walk together in "the footsteps of Our Lord Jesus Christ" in the way of Francis of Assisi. We affirm our desire to continue to weave, in synodality, the life of our Congregation.

We commit ourselves to bringing :
the red thread of the love of God and of others, never tiring of doing good;
the green thread of ecology, living in respect for our "common home";
the grey thread of self-denial, to give new life to God's gift;
the brown thread of Franciscan spirituality, allowing ourselves be evangelized and to evangelize in turn;
the yellow thread of joy, radiating from a life of fidelity to our commitments;
the blue thread of Mary's faith, living the creativity of the Holy Spirit as a force for renewal and giving oneself entirely to the divine project;
the purple thread of humility and forgiveness, conquering evil with good;
the orange thread of wonder and praise, source of energy and hope;
the gold thread of being present for the poor, whoever they may be;
the pink thread of kindness and tenderness;
the rainbow of a life of intercultural fraternity and charism as a place of communion and strength for the mission.

"Our charism is rooted in Franciscan spirituality, founded on Francis of Assisi's experience of the One and Triune God.The Spirit precedes us in our mission. Above all, we need to discover Him within ourselves and recognize His presence in the values of different cultures. We have preferential love for Mary. We see her as "Virgin made Church", as a bond of unity and communion, a discreet presence that gathers and inspires. " (Cf. Fundamental Constitution).
