The Day of Consecrated Life - 2022

Wanted since 1997 by Pope John Paul II, it takes place every year on February 2, the feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the temple.

Because it is beautiful and just to thank the Lord for the great gift of consecrated life which enriches and rejoices the Churc (John Paul II)

The presentation of the child in the temple, consecrated to the Lord, according to the ritual prescription of the time, like any first-born boy, announces the gift of Jesus, for the love of God and men and the supreme offering of the Cross.

Although in fact and in law every Christian is “consecrated” to Christ by his baptism, this expression applied to religious life underlines the public nature of a more radical commitment.
This day therefore has a particular importance for every consecrated person who, inspired by the overwhelming gift of Christ, aspires in turn to give his life and to abandon everything to walk in his footsteps.
It is a day placed under the sign of thanksgiving "because it is beautiful and just to thank the Lord for the great gift of consecrated life which enriches and rejoices the Church through the multiplicity of charisms and the dedication of so many lives totally given to the Lord and to the brothers. (John Paul II).
To celebrate this day, we share with you the testimony of our novices about what it means to be consecrated. Each day we will have the sharing of a different country. Today we share the testimony of the novices of Mozambique.

Novice Edite Cossa: For me, consecrated life means abandoning myself completely to God, opening my heart, my ears, my mind, and letting myself be transformed to live unconditional love with joy.

Novice Alda Márcia Nhabanga: Consecrated life is for me a free response that I give every day to the call of Christ, giving myself totally to God to serve him, living abnegation every day.

Novice Tatiana Alfredo: for me, consecrated life is a school of love and forgiveness, because it becomes capable of living an unconditional love, of loving everyone beyond borders.

Novice Verónica Marquel: Consecrated life is for me a response to God which requires the renunciation of my own desires, to be totally in intimacy with Christ and to freely embrace the will of God.

Novice Hortência Mimbir: Consecrated life is for me a path that leads me to God and makes me live in praise and joy.

Novice Zuleica Ubisse: Consecrated life for me means loving God with all that I am and that I have at the service of my brothers and sisters, in simplicity and joy.

Novice Benedita do Rosário: For me the consecrated life is a total consecration to God, living in obedience, poverty, chastity, fraternity and minority, at the service of the poorest.
