III Regional Assembly - Portugal

“Praise and bless my Lord, give thanks to him and serve him with great humility”

The Sisters of the Region of Portugal gathered for the III Assembly of the Region from April 24 to 27, 2025 with the theme: “Praise and bless my Lord, give thanks to him and serve him with great humility”.

We believe that everything is the work of the Holy Spirit. We all collaborate with God's grace through a vote, an indication of a name, an orientation. God manifests himself through his creatures, his sons and daughters. All of us “are therefore ambassadors for Christ” (2 Cor 5:20) and so we can say: “The Holy Spirit and we decide and transmit with a loud voice”. (cf. Acts 15)

The Sisters chosen to govern and animate the Region for the next four years are: 

Regional Minister: Sister Carla Nunes
Regional Assistant: Sister Aurora Pereira
Councillors: Sister Ana Paula da Conceição, Sister Maria da Conceição Carvalho, Sister Elisabete Semedo 

Sister Maria Alcina, Superior General of the Congregation, encouraged the sisters present with the following words: Dear Sisters, in this Assembly, let us welcome Jesus' invitation: “Put out into the deep, let down your nets.” Let us allow the creativity of the Spirit to flow through prayer, dialog, listening and fraternal discernment. With HIM, let us trace “new routes” that are favorable to the needs of the Region, open to making new crossings as pilgrims of hope.
